DAY 1: ARRIVE HOBART

Pick up your Hertz rental car and proceed to your hotel. Hobart, Tasmania's capital city, is centered around the water. It boasts arts and music, fine restaurants and friendly people. Overnight: Hobart, Mercure Hotel Hobart (standard) or Mantra One Sandy Bay Road (first class) for 2 nights

DAY 2: PORT ARTHUR GUIDED LUXURY TOUR

Depart this morning for a tour of Port Arthur, Australia's famous penal settlement. Travel around this fascinating city to Richmond. Visit Australia's oldest Catholic church, marvel at Devil's Kitchen and the rugged coast. DAY 3: HOBART-FREYCINET NATIONAL PARK

The journey from Hobart to Freycinet National Park takes approximately 2 hours. Continue along the coast and stop for lunch in Swansea, overlooking Great Oyster Bay. DAY 4: FREYCINET LODGE

Freycinet Lodge on Tasmania's East Coast is located within Freycinet National Park. Perhaps take a walk to stunning Wineglass Bay-or drive 30 minutes from town to Cape Tourville lighthouse for breathtaking coastal scenery. After dinner, enjoy wildlife spotting, evening star-gazing and wine tasting. (B)

DAY 5: FREYCINET LODGE-LAUNCESTON
