    Day 1: Darwin-Kakadu

    Departing Darwin at 6:30am, travel the Arnhem Highway deep into Kakadu National Park. Watch out for wildlife and birds as we make our way to Nourlangie Rock. Join a guided walk to view the Aboriginal rock art and learn a little of the culture of the Aboriginal people. You may choose to walk to a scenic lookout where part of the escarpment can be viewed across the woodlands. Continue to Cooinda for lunch. Later join the famous Yellow Water Billabong cruise, where a local guide will provide information on the ecology of this waterway. Visit the Warradjan Cultural Center and view the informative displays here. Later we visit Jabiru, the only town inside a National Park in Australia. Overnight: Gagudju Crocodile Holiday Inn for 3 nights (L)

    Day 2: Arnhem Land-4WD Adventure

    An early start this morning. Travel by 4WD vehicle into Arnhem Land and the Mikinj Valley, through spectacular scenery including sandstone outcrops, escarpments, forests, floodplains and billabongs. Hear of traditional land ownership, learn of bush skills, hunting, food gathering and preparation of "bush tucker." View Aboriginal rock art in its natural state-with no fences or barriers. Most tours are accompanied by an Aboriginal Guide. (L)

    Day 3: Jim Jim Falls & Twin Falls- 4WD Adventure

    Travel by 4WD to Jim Jim Falls carpark for a rugged bushwalk to the Jim Jim Falls plunge pool. At the plunge pool there's time for swimming, relaxing and enjoying the spectacular scenery. Morning tea will be served. After exploring Jim Jim Falls, travel to the day-use area for a picnic lunch. After lunch, it's on to the Twin Falls carpark to board boats to travel up the first part of the gorge for a 45-minute walk over rocks slippery with sand and along rock ledges (good level of fitness required). Relax and enjoy the spectacular scenery at the base of the falls. (L)

    Note: Touring is by small 4WD vehicle. All participants must have a reasonable level offitness and be able to paddle their own canoe and undertake bush walks. Children under 12 years are not recommended. Touring on Day 3 may alter due to seasonal conditions and safety requirements. Swimming not permitted at Twin Falls.

    Day 4: Kakadu-Darwin

    This morning stop at Ubirr with a short walk to view rock art, with paintings believed to be 20,000 years old. Later join the Guluyambi cruise on the East Alligator River for a chance to see some saltwater crocodiles. Accompanied by an Aboriginal guide, and with the special permission of the local people, you'll be able to go ashore in Arnhem Land. Inspect the Bowali Visitor Center. Take a scenic flight (optional, own expense) before returning to Darwin around 7:30pm. (L)
